The success of dental implants often depends on the quantity and quality of available bone. Therefore, dental bone regeneration becomes essential to restore bone structure and function in the maxilla and mandible when, for various reasons, whether physiological or traumatic, there is an absence or deficiency.
Nowadays, in fact, advanced techniques for dental regeneration provide the clinician with the possibility of reconstituting the necessary bone tissue, allowing him to proceed with decisive implantology operations, improving stability and support for endosseous dental implants.
In response to numerous requests from our implantology customers, B&B Dental has introduced the new Novobone Granules into its product range, an inert, biocompatible material designed to support the clinician in the need for a high-quality bone substitute for tissue regeneration.
Novobone Granules is an innovative solution for clinical regenerative cases: composed of bovine-derived hydroxyapatite, it undergoes a rigorous low-temperature decellularization and deproteinization process.
Technical features
Novobone Granules from B&B Dental:
- is 100% resorbable and biocompatible, being made of hydroxyapatite.
- complies with Directive 2017/745UE
- is produced entirely in Italy
- benefits from an innovative low temperature treatment for the removal of the protein component
Why did we choose cold treatment?
It was chosen over hot treatment for its overall advantages, to avoid the crystallisation process of the granules, thus guaranteeing optimal biocompatibility and reabsorbability while respecting the raw material.
In fact, this process allows the natural properties of the material to remain intact and suitable, ensuring maximum effectiveness in the bone regeneration process.
Functional features
The product has been carefully researched and designed to present advantageous features that promote good site healing:
- complex three-dimensional structure
- surface with high microscopic roughness
- numerous internal cavities
- high level of porosity
These features work together to enable the granules to act optimally as osteoconductors, facilitating the replacement of the patient’s endogenous tissue and promoting ideal tissue regeneration. The structure of the granules, which have numerous interstices and porosity, promotes increased vascularization, which is essential for the success of the bone regeneration process.
Indeed, scientific studies have shown that a greater granule surface area stimulates the patient’s active cells to colonize the area with new osteoblasts, accelerating regeneration. In addition, the special conformation of the granule allows tissue volumisation, resulting in an ideal aesthetic and functional effect.
Available formats
The entire production and sales chain of Novobone Granules is 100% Italian, guaranteeing high quality standards. The granules are available in a single granulometry (200-600 µm) and in various pre-dosed sizes: 0.5g (1cc), 1g (2cc), 2g (4cc), 3g (6cc) and 5g (10cc) ampoules.
The average resorption time varies from 4 to 6 months for spongy bone grafts and from 8 to 12 months for cortical bone grafts.
Bone regeneration procedures have become a standard component in treatment plans for patients with bone deficiencies, ensuring optimal and sustainable results over time. Using a quality product with a safe composition that complies with all regulations allows you to operate safely for the peace of mind of the dentist and the patient.
