Uncaria Tomentosa is a widespread plant throughout Central and South America that’s capable of boosting our immune cells’ effectiveness against viral and bacterial infections. The phytocomplex contains active ingredients with anti-inflammatory properties, which make the mouthwash an effective remedy for pain and inflammation. Unlike the current gold standard for the treatment of gum inflammation (chlorhexidine), OralSed® doesn’t stain the tooth enamel. The World Health Organisation has classified Uncaria Tomentosa as a medicinal plant for several decades. Due to the antioxidant properties of its molecules, the internal bark of the plant’s roots are traditionally used by Peruvian Indians to prepare an herbal tea for treating various ailments, including arthritis and heart disease.
INDICATIONS
OralSed® has anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating action. It is recommended for gingivitis, canker sores, herpes simplex, rhinitis and rhino-pharyngitis. It is also recommended to treat severe mucositis in patients undergoing chemotherapy and patients who are immunocompromised after bone marrow transplants. Aside from avoiding its use in the case of verified hypersensitivity to one or more of its components, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding, Uncaria Tomentosa basically has no other contraindications. Uncaria Tomentosa can have interactions with anticoagulant drugs, low molecular weight heparins, antiplatelet agents and thrombolytic agents.
